The Groves at Mahogany

• Multi-Family • Community Planning • Townhomes

The Groves is a 74 unit, 34 building thoughtfully composed residential community that draws on the grounded character of Prairie architecture while expressing it through a clean, contemporary lens. The development is organized as a cohesive neighbourhood. Residences frame gently curving streets and landscaped pedestrian routes, while their consistent roof forms and architectural language create a strong sense of identity. Variations in building orientation, setbacks, porches, and landscaping add rhythm to the streetscape and keep the community from feeling repetitive.

At the heart of the development, a landscaped communal courtyard creates a distinctive social and visual focal point. Layered planting, ornamental trees, pathways, seating areas, and intimate garden spaces provide residents with opportunities to gather while bringing nature into the centre of the community. A second, more open green space introduces contrast and gives the neighbourhood a relaxed, park-like quality.

The architecture reinforces this landscape-led approach. Low-pitched hipped roofs, generous eaves, sheltered entries, warm wood accents, and substantial masonry-inspired forms give the homes a strong, grounded presence. These characteristics reflect the Prairie ideal of emphasizing horizontality and relating buildings closely to their setting, while simplified detailing gives The Groves a distinctly modern expression.
